The year is 1998. Only months before, Angelus plotted out the end of the world, one that led him on his own journey through Hell and back. He may have been stopped, but the build up of the ordeal left Sunnydale without a slayer. For the entirety of the summer, the demons have had almost full reign over the Hellmouth. While Giles and the Scooby gang have done their best to keep the vampire population at bay, they rarely come out on top. Devastated, Buffy fled from Sunnydale and took up a new life in Los Angeles; a life that has quickly come to a close as summer rolls to a halt.
It’s a moment of relief for everyone on her side. Not only has she made her return, but Angel too, has fallen back down from Hell. And after Kendra’s death, a new slayer has been called forth, one that’ll be sure to make a loud arrival. Unfortunately, any celebration would be poorly spent. Evil never ceases to rise in Sunnydale. It’s already begun the stir. New and old faces appear in the California town. Some good, some evil, some balancing on that beam in between. A whole new big bad is in Sunnydale, and a whole slew of other baddies looking for their piece of the town.
It’s always darkest before the dawn, but what if the sun doesn’t rise?
